Laurium Manor Inn has been restored into an historic mansion hotel that has been welcoming guests since 1989. Our goal has been to create a welcoming inn that combines the best amenities from hotels with the comforts of a B & B. The library, dining room, parlor, den on the first floor and the ballroom on the third floor is always open to guests.

This room was Norman Macdonald’s den. Located on the north side of the first floor it can be accessed through either its own side entry door or from the hallway.
Originally this room was Norman Macdonald’s bedroom. It is located on the 2nd floor in the northeast corner of the mansion. It has a small sitting room with the TV and a separate bedroom.
This suite consists of two rooms plus the bathroom. The sitting room with the fireplace was the nursery and the other room was Minnie Macdonald’s bedroom. It is located on the 2nd floor and takes up most of the south side of this floor. It has a large sitting room with the TV and a separate large bedroom. The bathroom is large at 8’x13′
This room was a guest bedroom for the Macdonald’s. It is on the north side of the 2nd floor and its two windows overlook the driveway and our neighborhood.
Originally this room was used as a second floor living room by Norman MacDonald. It is located on the 2nd floor in the southwest corner of the mansion. Its two windows look out at the south yard and carriage house.
This suite consists of a sitting room and a bedroom plus the bathroom. The sitting room was originally used by one of the maids as her bedroom. The bedroom was added in 2006 by taking some of the storage room space. It is located on the 3rd floor and takes up most of the south side of of this floor.
This suite consists of a bedroom and a sitting room plus the bathroom. The sitting room was originally one of the maids bedrooms. The bedroom was created in 2006 from space taken from the storage room. It is located on the 3rd floor on the north side of the mansion.
In Victorian Hall’s original carriage house on the second floor in the back of the property. The 1st floor garage is not included in this suite as it is still used for storage.
This room was originally the guest bedroom for the Hoatsons. It is located in the front of the house on the 2nd floor in the south west corner. This room has the only access to the balcony. We have been told that Theodore Roosevelt stayed in this room during his campaign here for President in 1912.
Originally the Hoatson’s two oldest daughters, Gussie and Gertrude, shared this bedroom.
It is located in the north corner of the second floor with a window on the north and west walls of the room. The windows overlook the north yard and Tamarack Street.
Originally a nursery for the Hoatson’s youngest daughter Grace. This room is located on the north side of the 2nd floor. It overlooks our north yard.
The Hoatson’s two youngest sons, Chester & James Ramsey, shared this bedroom. It is located in the back of the mansion’s north east corner. It overlooks the carriage house and our Laurium neighborhood.
Originally, this was the Hoatson’s oldest son Calvin’s bedroom, It is located on the 2nd floor in the mansions southeast corner. It overlooks our south yard and our Laurium neighborhood.
This was Cornelia and Thomas Hoatson’s bedroom. It is located on the 2nd floor on the south side of the mansion. Its bay windows overlook our south yard.
Originally, this was one of the maid’s bedrooms. It is located in the northeastern corner of the third floor. The window faces east and on a very clear day it is possible to see Lake Superior from this room.
Originally one of the maids rooms. This room is located in the southeastern corner of the third floor. It overlooks our Laurium neighborhood.
Originally the head maid’s room. It is located on the southern side of the third floor and overlooks our south yard.

Originally this room was a very large cedar closet. All of the woodwork including the floor, walls, cabinets, trim and ceiling are covered in northern white cedar. It is located on the northern side of the third floor and overlooks our north yard and carriage house.
Laurium Manor’s Carriage House “Bisbee Suite”
Bisbee is the name of town in southern Arizona that made Thomas Hoatson and many other people very wealthy off the copper mine he and investors started there in 1901. Dividends from this Calumet & Arizona Mining Co. are the reason many of the mansions in Laurium were built.
Originally this room was the hayloft and grain storage for the horses that were kept below. Then it was a storage area when the Hoatson’s bought their first automobiles and no longer need the horses.
